Preparing Your Quilt for Quilting

Bring your quilt top in for quilting.  We offer quilting edge to edge designs   and custom quilting designs as well.  Pricing depends on complexity of design.  Make an appointment to bring in your quilt top for an estimate.

Or follow these basic tips:

• Give your quilt top a final pressing.  We do charge extra for tops that do not lay flat.
• Ensure that there are no open seams and clip all loose threads.
• Backings and battings provided by customer must be 4 to 6 inches larger than quilt top.

Quilt tops that do not meet these minimum requirements may be returned to customer or promised completion dates can be delayed.

Determining Cost

Quilting cost is determined on the style of the design as well as the size of the quilt and other services requested.   Prices begin at $.015    (1.5 cents ) per square inch.
To determine the total square inches, measure your quilt top.  Multiply length by width.  Multiply that by the estimated cost per square inch.  For example, if your quilt measures 84"x 90", the total square inches would be  7560.  The minimum quilting charge would be $113.40. 
Batting and Backing are NOT included in the square inch prices.  If you would like us to provide these, the additional cost will be included in your estimate. Shop our store for available Wide Backings. Any additional shipping costs will also be added.

Our home is smoke-free, but not pet free.  Extreme care and effort is made to keep our quilting and sewing area clean and Penny away from your quilts.  We recommend you wash all completed  quilts before presenting to someone with allergies.

Shipping

If you are mailing your quilt to us, please wrap securely in a large ziplock bag or something similar before placing in a box or large mailing envelope.  We have seen crushed soggy boxes and wish no damage to your quilt.  Your quilt will be returned to you by USPS Priority Mail or FedEx Home and insured.

Please complete a Quilting Order Form and upon receiving it, the quilt and $60 deposit, we will send you an e-mail acknowledgement and final estimate of the cost based upon your quilting requirements.   Our minimum charge is $60 and does not include batting, backings, binding.  A portion of your deposit includes return shipping.
